Sage Pay (formerly Protx) offer the most cost-effective solution for accepting Credit Cards and Debit Cards for UK/Ireland stores - we even use them ourselves!
Stores wishing to accept cards online through Sage Pay only need sign up for a Sage Pay Go account and to link it with a merchant account. (If the store doesn't yet have a merchant account, Sage Pay can provide a good deal with their partners Bank of Scotland!).
